What Is A Pain Management Plan
Instead of patients managing many providers themselves, we help to ensure patients have a smooth approach across their care needs for pain management and follow up once we have assessed patients individual case and needs.
Components of a balanced pain management plan may include:
- Minimally invasive, injection-based therapies
- Coordination with diagnostic testing and providers outside of our center to ensure an integrated approach
- Surgical consultation

Injections For Pain Relief
Our board-certified anesthesiologists are skilled at delivering many types of injections. These procedures relieve pain, reduce inflammation and block overactive nerve signals. They work on the spine, inside the joints and on nerves all over the body. Injections also help your doctor diagnose pain by determining exactly where its coming from. These treatments are extremely effective and safe. Our physicians offer:
- Nerve blocks: We inject numbing medication or anti-inflammatory medication directly into the source of pain. These procedures include epidural injections to relieve neck and back pain.
- Sympathetic blocks: These injections relieve pain from chronic pain syndromes. The medication targets the part of the nervous system that controls involuntary functions such as blood flow and digestion. Our experts use X-ray or ultrasound to deliver treatments to the precise location of pain.
- Joint injections: We administer corticosteroid medication to relieve pain in joints throughout the body.
- Trigger point injections: Trigger points are muscle knots that develop when the muscles cant relax. These injections relieve muscle and tissue discomfort from fibromyalgia and myofascial pain.
- Botox® injections: These reduce pain from migraines and muscle spasticity by blocking the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract.

Oftentimes, illnesses or injuries cause significant, lasting pain that over-the-counter pain medications just can’t handle. Typically, pain that lasts longer than six weeks is considered chronic pain and should be evaluated by a physician.
Chronic pain is often a multifaceted problem that requires input from more than one specialist. To provide the best and most comprehensive care, we use a multidisciplinary approach that coordinates services from Crozer Health ‘s skilled specialists and your primary care physician.
If you are experiencing chronic pain, ask your primary care doctor about the pain management services at Crozer Health .
